Recognitions Include Best in Show, Gold, Silver and Bronze Contract Design Awards
ATLANTA (Dec. 12, 2022) – Epicurean Atlanta and 1105 West Peachtree have been honored at the inaugural Georgia Design Awards Gala. Produced by Atlanta Magazine and Atlanta Magazine HOME, the December 1 event brought together all segments of the design community, including architecture, construction and interior design to recognize excellence and highlight outstanding projects. Developed by Selig Development, the properties received several recognitions in partnership with project architect and interior design firm Rule Joy Trammell Rubio (RJTR) under the “Contract Design” category:
Best in Show (Tie) – 1105 Office Lobby
Office, Gold (Tie) – 1105 Office Lobby
Public Space, Silver (Tie) – “Amenity Deck” Sky Terrace
Hotel, Bronze – Epicurean Atlanta
Spanning categories of architecture, interior design, homebuilding, remodeling and landscape design in both residential and commercial developments, the Georgia Design Awards received a wide variety of project submissions from all over Georgia. Entries were judged by an independent panel of design professionals outside of Georgia, then selecting gold, silver and bronze winners in each of four categories: interiors, residential architecture, outdoor spaces and contract design.
Designed by RJTR, each space at Epicurean Atlanta and 1105 West Peachtree serves as a gathering place for locals, residents and guests. Taking “Best in Show” and a gold award for the “Office” category, the 1105 West Peachtree office lobby is a destination to for visitors to linger, socialize and co-work at any time of the day, with its main attraction being a signature restaurant and bar, The Office Bar. The bar concept features rich wood tones, luxurious textures and custom suspended light, with shareable small plates and creative cocktails, local craft beer and an elevated wine list to appease any visitor’s needs.
The Sky Terrace, taking a silver award in the “Public Space” category, serves as the meeting point for Epicurean Atlanta, 1105 West Peachtree and 40 West 12th towers. Located on the ninth floor, the one-acre Sky Terrace invites employees, residents and guests to indulge in an activated greenspace, resort-style outdoor pool, Spanish-inspired bites and cocktails from Aerial Kitchen & Bar, cabanas and lounge vignettes, with the Midtown Atlanta skyline as the backdrop.
Taking bronze in the “Hotel” category, Epicurean Atlanta creates a sanctuary for foodies with amenities that quench the thirst for culinary experience and satisfy a hunger for cuisine knowledge. The interiors play off the food-forward experience from the moment a guest walks through the doors with check-in taking place right at the front of the hotel’s signature restaurant, Reverence. Decanter-inspired light fixtures and custom art are featured in each elevator lobby, while accent walls crafted of used wine crates announce each floor’s name after a distinct wine varietal. Design details fully immerse each guest into a sensory-driven hospitality experience, such as cork-crafted touch points, butcher block surfaces in each guest room and color palettes of oatmeal, mission fig, wild rice, caramel and honey in patterns inspired by pastries and glass water rings.
