Epicurean Atlanta Announces Vision for Adventurous Culinary Theatre
ATLANTA, GA (March 31, 2021) – At the Epicurean Theatre, Food, Wine, Art and Culture will teach life’s greatest lessons; of course, it helps that award-winning chefs, star mixologists, buzzworthy winemakers and talented artists are there to lead the way. Epicurean Atlanta is excited to announce a look into programming initiatives for the Epicurean Theatre that will open alongside the hotel this summer.
“The Epicurean Theatre is the pinnacle of our hotel’s amenities. It’s about discovery, fueling of passions and learning from talented artists in a close-up scenario,” says Epicurean Atlanta General Manager Marc Bauer. “This venue directly connects our local community to our culinary legacy forged by teachings of Epicurus and the commitment to excellence of Bern Laxer, founder of Bern’s Steak House in Tampa, Florida.”
To herald the Epicurean’s brand expansion into the Atlanta midtown market, a sold-out Supper Club is staged on Wednesday, March 31, in the culinary theatre at Epicurean Tampa to honor ‘Past, Present and Future.’ The culinary extravaganza will feature Epicurean Tampa’s Chef Adam Hyatt, Chef Chad Johnson of Haven Tampa (previously of Epicurean Tampa) and Chef Ewart Wardhaugh, the recently announced executive chef of Epicurean Atlanta and its signature restaurant, Reverence. The distinguished trio will produce a six-course evening of discovery dubbed Supper Club – Past, Present & Future.
Available for hotel overnight guests and locals alike, the Epicurean Theatre will host both educational and entertaining forums for the open discussion of a wide range of topics - from cultural trends and cooking techniques, to the art of mixology, wine-tasting and more. Events will include immersive demonstrations, tastings, and pairings all led by notable local and regional chefs and beverage professionals. Overall, the high-tech kitchen classroom aims to bring dynamic, inspiring and engaging programming to attendees of all levels of culinary-expertise.
While theatre programming will be overseen by Chef Wardhaugh, the team at Epicurean Atlanta has enlisted local Atlanta experiential agency Southern Culinary & Creative to develop additional unique events and classes. With over 50 years collective knowledge, the team behind Southern Culinary & Creative has the expertise in creating and executing memorable experiences. Elizabeth Feichter, Kelly Campbell and Rebecca Lemelin Gann share a deep connection to the culinary industry in addition to their collective success in developing the legacy of the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival and other culinary and cultural experiences throughout the Southeast.
“We’re exploring meaningful and thoughtful themes as we are planning out the events calendar at Epicurean Atlanta and cannot wait to reveal what’s in store later this summer,” says Southern Culinary & Creative Partner Elizabeth Feichter. “Both hotel guests and local residents will be able to do it all with top-of-the-line technology at their fingertips - it’s going to make for a fantastic experience.”
When it comes to the buildout of the Culinary Theatre, no detail has been left out. The 1,964 square foot space will be equipped with a state-of-the-art kitchen thanks to partnerships with Sub-Zero and Wolf. Outfitted with multiple 86” LED TVs and space to accommodate over 100 attendees, this cutting-edge venue will be the ultimate playground for culinary discovery.
Finally, in conjunction with curated programming, the Epicurean Atlanta Theatre will also act as a customizable event space. With an emphasis on versatility, offering teleconferencing and hybrid capabilities, the space is the perfect backdrop for out-of-the-box meetings and brings a more hands-on approach to team building.
